Guangdong is the province where people were engaged in seaborne trade

Guangfu culture has the dominant position in all Guangdong clan cultures due to its outstanding features in architecture, art, religion, drama, music, literature, painting, craftwork, diet, gardens and customs etc.
There are a number of modern, high-quality cultural faculties in Guangdong. By the end of 2006, there were a total of 141 professional artistic performance organizations, 141 mass artistic centers and cultural centers, 130 countylevel or above public libraries, 148 museums and memorials, 22 radio stations, 21 medium and short wave transmission stations and relay stations and 24 television stations; 1014 cinemas, and 1913 cultural stations.
In Guangdong, there are six national historic cities, 16 provincial historic cities, 30 key cultural relic units under the State-level protection, and 158 key cultural relic units under the provincial-level protection.
